Salman Khan does it again! After giving back-to-back super hits “Wanted”, “Dabangg”, “Ready” and “Bodyguard”, he has hit the bull’s eye once again with “Ek Tha Tiger” which has broken records of opening day collection by earning Rs.33 crore.
The romantic thriller released on Independence Day and trade pundits are expecting the collections to increase during the long weekend, thanks to Eid, which is Monday, and make more new records.
The film’s cost is said to be above Rs.50 crore and “Ek Tha…” marks director Kabir Khan’s third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after “Kabul Express” in 2006 and “New York” in 2009. Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, says the film has received the highest opening ever.
Salman’s movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is doing very well all over. It has been the highest opening ever. In first two days, the film has collected around Rs.47 crore all over India. On the opening day, the film collected Rs.33 crore. It is the highest collection till date for any Indian film,” Thadani said.
In Mumbai the film collected close to around Rs.17 crore on opening day. There is possibility that the film will break all records and collect Rs.200 crore,” he added.Vinay Choksey of VIP Exhibitors, Mumbai, seconds Thadani and said: “The film is expected to maintain the craze and the collections will go up during weekend.
The film that revolves around an Indian secret agent named Tiger collected almost Rs.17 crore on the second day.Anant Verma, director and business head of DT Cinemas, says “‘Ek Tha Tiger’ opened with 98 percent occupancy”.
The movie is doing excellent business. There was a lot of hype about it because of which we have had 45 percent online and advance bookings,” Verma said.”From families to couples, college students to working class came to watchthe movie and they are liking it. We are waiting for the weekend and expecting increased footfalls,” he added.
Salman, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, romances Katrina (Zoya), an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent in the film.
“Ek Tha…” shows the tumultuous journey of the dark world of intelligence that forbids its soldiers from falling in love.
The story is by Aditya Chopra and the film’s screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra.

Pawan Kalyan’s dream run at BO came in the form of ‘gabbar singh,’ the movie which has completed 100 days of run successfully by today. Directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Bandla Ganesh Babu, this project has created historical records which aren’t officially announced. However, producer says that Pawan was the man who requested him not to reveal any collection figures which might create nuisance among Fans communities.
Luckily Ganesh Babu officially announced the number of 100 days centers as 65. Released in 1300 theatres worldwide, ‘gabbar singh’ has become the Number One film in 81 years of Telugu Cinema History. Ravi Teja’s latest movie Devudu Chesina Manushulu (DCM), which has been directed by Puri Jagannath, has opened to a good response at the Box Office on the first day.
Despite facing tough competition from Ek Tha Tiger and Julayi, the Puri Jagannath directed film has done fare business at the collection centres.
Devudu Chesina Manushulu has low profile release as Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger and Allu Arjun’s Julayi have occupied maximum number of theatres across the country.According to reports, the Telugu film has hit 600 cinemas, which include 563 screens in India, 29 screens in USA and 8 screens in UAE.
Devudu Chesina Manushulu, which is described as a rib trickling comedy, has registered 70% to 100% occupancy. As per the early trends, Devudu Chesina Manushulu has collected Rs 5.5 crores on its opening day at the Box Office.

Salman Khan’s much-hyped film Ek Tha Tiger has got an overwhelming response at the Indian Box Office on the first day of its release. As per the early trends, the romantic action thriller has raked in approximately Rs 30+ crores nett at the collections centres across the country. With this, it has shattered all previous records including that of Agneepath. The movie has turned out to be the all time biggest opener in Bollywood.
As per the reports received to bharatone.com The huge hype around the movie Ek Tha Tiger and the Salmania had created lot of curiosity among the film goers. The theatres screening the film were overflowing with movie buffs within and outside on the opening day. In many theatres, the police were called in to control the mob, which left many crazy fans of Salman, who did not get a chance to see his film on the first day.
Ek Tha Tiger opened to an earth-shattering response at the Box Office. The Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer movie, which was released on nearly 2500 screens on August 15, registered 100% occupancy in both Single screens and multiplexes across the country on the first day. It has garnered unheard of and unimaginable figures in all the circuits.
According to Taran Adarsh, Ek Tha Tiger has collected more than Rs 2 crores in Rajasthan alone and this collection is much bigger than that of Agneepath, which had scored Rs 1.30 crore in this circuite on the opening day. As per Taran Adarsh’s calculations, its first day business would definitely cross Rs 30 crores and it might possibly go near to Rs 35 crores.
